| STC, Inc. is a general
contractor providing pre-construction services with offices
in Qatar and Dubai. STC has worked all-over the State of
Qatar. Our construction support services group provides
specialized project support to our project managers and
field engineers allowing them to focus their energy on
planning, coordinating and anticipating project issues.
These support services as noted below are offered across our
three operating divisions during both preconstruction and
construction: Estimating, Budgeting & Value Engineering
Our estimating department has considerable depth and is
devoted solely to the task of conceptual, schematic & design
development budgeting as well as final guaranteed maximum
price. Also, STC estimators have more than 320
subcontractors in their database qualified for various types
and sizes of projects. STC shares with clients any and all
pricing including subcontractor proposals. In addition, our
value engineering work when performed early in the design
process has repeatedly produced results that maximize our
client's program while maintaining and improving the
construction budget. It is the genuine knowledge /
professionalism and expertise of our staff that allows us to
remain competitive in the marketplace while maintaining a
solid reputation of trust with our clients.
Site Utilization Efforts:
A good strategic site utilization plan developed early in
the process contemplates important contractor logistical and
tactical site requirements and may include special client
considerations and/or concerns as well. A good plan should
note, among other things, the following:
- Location of port o cabinet - both office and storage
- Location of temporary site fencing and gates
- Location of temporary utilities
- Location of environmental concerns.
- Location of various hoisting, staging, storing, and
parking areas as contemplated and in order to properly
execute the work
- If necessary, the Site Utilization Plan is also
capable of reflecting any sequencing or phasing of the
work that may be required to accommodate the owner's
needs
- Emergency fire apparatus access.
Procurements /Accounting and Budgeting
Under our centralized procurements department, the award of
all subcontracts and purchase orders are reviewed and
authorized. Our centralized approach assures that we do not
over commit to any particular subcontractor.
Our construction support group is also staffed with full
time project administrator with one assigned to each and
every project. It is their sole responsibility to prepare
requisitions, obtain lien releases and insure that we have
proper subcontractor's certificates of insurance. While the
project manager is ultimately responsible, he/she spends
less time on accounting and more time focusing on managing.
